.STORY 1 — FROM DRAWINGS TO A CLEAR ESTIMATE Portal Culvert & Road Crossing A structural drawing package was reviewed and broken down into measurable concrete, reinforcement and formwork elements. The final take-off identified 46.60 m³ of concrete, 4,841 kg of reinforcement and 127.52 m² of formwork, with assumptions and exclusions clearly recorded before pricing. The result: A structured, traceable labour estimate that could be checked against the drawings before tendering.
.STORY 2 — FINDING THE COST BEFORE TENDER DAY Suspended Slab & Downstand Beams Slabs and beams can easily be incorrectly measured when quantities overlap. Blackstone separates the slab soffit, beam sides and soffits, slab edges, reinforcement and concrete before applying the relevant rates. The result: Clearer quantities, less risk of double-counting and a better understanding of the labour cost before committing to a tender price.
STORY 3 — WHEN THE DRAWINGS DON'T TELL THE WHOLE STORY Tender Review & Scope Control Not every tender package arrives complete. Missing dimensions, unclear specifications and conflicting drawing revisions can materially affect a contractor's price. Blackstone identifies these items during the review and records them as assumptions, exclusions or RFIs rather than quietly guessing.
